More and more often you come across websites where certain elements on the page move slower or faster during scrolling. In this blog, I will explain what Parallax Scrolling is and provide some examples.
The following text is explained on Wikipedia as the technique:
“Parallax is the phenomenon where the apparent position of an object in relation to another object and/or the background varies as it is viewed from different positions. This phenomenon is more pronounced the closer the object is to the background relative to the observer: Things that are closer seem to shift more through the change of viewing direction than things that are further away.”
Simply put, this means: objects that are far away move slower than objects that are close. The further the object, the slower it moves with you.
